Do I need to hire a process server where I am located or where the papers are to be served?

The process server must be hired in the area where the person to receive the documents is located. If you are seeking to serve documents to someone in Lower Mainland, we can fulfil the mandate. But, if you are looking into serving documents in the Northwest Territories you would need to work with the agency working in that area.

Do you serve in the United States?

Accepted Answer

We do not currently serve in the United States but can make introductions to agencies that do so when a client requires a document to be served there. The same applies to the regions of Canada that are outside our service area.

What regions do you serve in?

Accepted Answer

We serve the Lower Mainland are in B.C. Standard service area is currently from Hope to Whistler and anywhere in between which covers all Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley regions.

What days of the week are you operational?

Accepted Answer

Seven days a week. We do not place restrictions on what days of the week the defendant will be served. For national or provincial holidays such as Canada Day or Christmas Day additional charges may be incurred.

What if I have multiple defendants at the same address?

Accepted Answer

This is not an unusual event; we often end up with multiple defendants being served at the same location. Each additional defendant incurs an additional charge of $30.

How do I get my documents to you for service?

The fastest way to get us documents is by email. If this is not possible a local Courier Service or direct pick up by one of our agents will be arranged. Costs associated with such service will be charged in addition to the regular serving fees.

How long does process service take?

Accepted Answer

We complete most of our assignments within 24 to 48 hours. Serving documents in areas such as Downtown Vancouver are often performed within 12 to 24 business hours of receiving the documents to be served. In some instances, and in more remote locations serving of documents may take longer owing to the geographic and physical limitations of actually finding the client.

Do you serve documents on a rush basis?

Yes, we do! We understand that the serving of documents is an important activity that needs to be carried out diligently and promptly and treat all assignments accordingly. However, when a particularly urgent case arises, we do have a priority service for a rush serving of documents. If you have documents that urgently needs to be served, please call us and ask for a Rush Service. Note that it may not be possible for us to serve documents on a rush basis in all locations.

What happens after my documents are served?

Upon successful delivery of the documents to the intended recipient, a sworn affidavit will be provided to you attesting to the delivery date, time, and location.

What if you cannot serve the defendant - Do I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

We do not offer refunds once we have attempted to serve documents. If we cannot locate the recipient of the documents or have been informed that they are no longer in the locality served, we can offer additional services in the form of a skip-tracing.

If we are unable to serve the documents, we will provide an affidavit made out by a certified BC Commissioner for Oaths attesting to the fact that the delivery attempts were made, but we were not able to reach the recipient.

Can you attempt service on a specific date or time?

We will attempt to serve documents at a time and date requested by the customer, whenever it is possible to do so. In general, there are no restrictions placed on when an attempt can be made; however, the practicalities and nature of our service make it necessary to take advantage of opportunities when they occur.

How many attempts does your service include and does it include several addresses?

For a typical assignment, we will make three attempts to deliver your documents. After that, additional attempts can be made at a cost of $30 per attempt or for pre-agreed price based on a certain number of attempts if the intended recipient is known to be hard to reach.

How much does your service cost?

Accepted Answer

The amount charged depends on the service provided and the location of the service being provided. Urban Vancouver, for example, would generally cost less than Whistler. Please call us for a quote, we offer competitive pricing and feel confident the value we provide is second to none!

Is there a fee to notarize an affidavit of service?

Accepted Answer

Yes there is. An affidavit of personal service is $25 and an affidavit of attempted service is $35.

Do you charge mileage or other fees?

Accepted Answer

For regular clients who have an account with us, we do not charge additional mileage costs unless the intended recipient is in a remote area outside our usual operating range. For one-off clients or occasional customers, our mileage charges are $0.65 per kilometre. A detailed log of the distance driven will be provided as part of the invoice.
